Event List:

After you log into user.kinisium.com, scroll down to the bottom. Under the list of Kinis you will find a list of the last events that Kini has reported. This can be very useful if you’re trying to pinpoint a time when a Kini moved, or when your Wi-Fi was misbehaving.

We plan on expanding on this feature and will soon allow you to request to receive a daily or weekly listing of events automatically!

Silent Periods

If you open a Kini, and scroll down to the Advanced Settings section, you will now see the pane for adding Silent Periods:

This feature allows you to set specific time periods during which a moved Kini will not send you an alert. For example, if you know you'll be the only one opening a cabinet in your office during the day, you can set a Silent Period from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. During these hours, Kini won’t send you alerts, but it will still log events on our servers. You can view these events later in the Event Listing (above), even though you won’t receive alert messages at the time. This ensures you’re notified only when it matters, such as after hours.

One Tap Silencing:
Here’s a new option you can turn on and try out:

With One Tap Silencing the second alert within a few minutes of the last one will include a link, that looks like this:

If you tap on that link, the Kini will be silenced for 2 hours. But wait! There’s more. When you tap the link, you get some other options:

You  can change the delay to be longer or shorter, or cancel it altogether. We love this new feature, as it is very handy when we know that we’re the ones who are moving the Kini, and we want to keep it from going off repeatedly.

We don’t turn this feature on automatically (we so want to!) because there are some cellular carriers out there that consider links in SMS messages as being SPAM messages and they will reject or delay SMS messages that include links. Please try this out with your cellular carrier to ensure that they will deliver your messages in a timely fashion. (We’ve mostly had this issue with carriers when using an email-to-SMS gateway).
Stasis Mode:
This feature is a little older, but we still see many users who are not aware of it. Stasis Mode basically turns what Kini does upside down. Instead of getting messages when Kini detects movement, Kini will send messages when it HASN’T been moved. Use this to:

- to get a reminder if you or a loved one hasn’t opened a medicine cabinet all day, and you know they’re supposed to be taking a daily medication.
- to find out if a petsitter didn’t visit in the morning to walk your dog, like they were supposed to.
- place on your exercise bike and be notified if more than 48 hours goes by since you last used it!!!
This feature is also found in the Kini User Portal:
You can have Kini monitor for lack of movement in periods as short as 30 minutes or as long as 30 days!

We hope you enjoy these new features! There’s more we are working on, and we’re also listening to your feedback and as we hear how you use Kini, we are adding features to support your use. Please stay tuned for the next new features by following us on our social media channels!
