Best Practices for Use With Android Phone
However, If you prefer to receive SMS alerts*, here’s how you can set up your Android Phone to allow calls from specific contacts to alert you even when Do Not Disturb mode is active:
- Open Settings: Go to the settings app on your Android device.
- Search for Do Not Disturb: This can often be found under "Sounds and vibration" or directly in the settings search bar.
- Allow Exceptions: Within the Do Not Disturb settings, look for an option like "Allow exceptions" or "Calls from".
- Set Exceptions for Calls: You can typically choose to allow calls from anyone, from contacts only, or from starred (favorite) contacts only. To allow calls from specific individuals, ensure those contacts are marked as favorites in your contacts app.
- Enable Do Not Disturb: Activate Do Not Disturb mode, ensuring your exceptions are set as needed.
By setting up Do Not Disturb exceptions, calls from your prioritized contacts can still come through even when DND is active.
*There are no limits on the number of alerts received using the Kini app’s notifications.
SMS messages are limited to 5 per hour, 10 per day, 20 per week and 30 per month. All limits apply concurrently. For example, you may receive up to 10 messages in a single day, but no more than 20 in a week or 30 in a month. For higher volume usages, please use the Kini app notifications which are unlimited and are delivered faster than SMS.
